If you're lucky enough to be born Irish, you're lucky enough!

Gosh I remember taping this show way back in the day (for you kids, it involved actual tape). A really great show.

Excellent ! I inquired ... This wonderful song seems to have for origin a tune from the early XVII th century (Renaissance lute mainly). So go to lute ... The Co(b)bler/ The cobbler on Youtube and you will hear the original tune ( either from the Folger/Dowland or the ML/Sturt Manuscripts). Many good guitar transcriptions are heard too on Youtube but the ornementations seem to lack. Never mind ...Great thanks ! 8 stars ...All the best

LOL, see Ashley Bradley's comment above. We know what Tommy and Liam looked like. They lived in a town up the road from me, in New Hampshire.

Saw him in 2002, or so. He did this song and you could hear a hair drop, it was that quiet. He's the master.

This is Liam Clancy of the Clancy Brothers. Not Tommy Makem. Still wonderful but Tommy is the curly Blond.Check out Tommy singing Óró, Sé do Bheatha ‘Bhaile with the Clancy Brothers.

I LOVE the song, but the constant spitting is too much when I'm listening to it.....
