Perfect. I have enjoyed Tim's music for over 40 years now and cannot think of a song I don't love. His beautiful, heartfelt poetry delivered in that extraordinary voice, still reduces me to tears. RIP Tim and Jeff.

Tim Buckley died of a heroin overdose in 1975. Such a waste of a tremendous voice. I first heard this song in in 1978 in the movie "Coming Home" with Jane Fonda and Jon Voight. It was at the end when Bruce Dern is starting his swim to the sea. At the same time Jane Fonda was walking into the door of a grocery store. When the door closed, the camera focused on "Exit Out" on the door and I just burst into tears after hearing the song. It is still one of my favorite songs.

This is my favourite song of all time! I can still remember the first time I heard it; about two years ago now. And, I was crawling along a very dark path at the time. Then I came across this song, and its hard to explain, but it kind of felt like I was being elevated to enlightenment (dramatic I know). I'll never forget that moment, and ever since, it's been my muse and comfort when the darkness latches to me..... I don't quite know why it appeals to me so much on such a spiritual level. All I know, is that I love every infinitesimal speck of its brilliance. Music is God!

@ annemarie gettys.......Not sure what your reference to Jeff Buckley meant. You do know he passed away in 1997, ironically aged only 2 years older than his father, Tim. I grew up knowing Tim's heavenly voice and music, he was as close to perfection as I've heard. RIP Tim and Jeff.

I just wanted to say "thanks" for sharing this wonderful song. I heard this song for the first time watching the video about Vietnam, called "Dear America, Letters Home From Vietnam. In which a segment of this song was played and many other great songs of the sixties and of the Vietnam Era were played. This song grabbed my attention, as soon as I heard it. Thank you.
