Satyr000

This is by far my favorite Thin Lizzy lineup. They had a level of chemistry that that the other lineups simply didn't have.

Why is Brain Downey the Best Rock n Roll Drummer of all time ??.....because he has soul !! Brian Downey is the only Drummer I have consistently returned to listen to for over 30 years, he is still my main influence. His unique style with his swing\shuffles & amazing fills\Parts vibes always sound so Fresh exciting & inspirational to me even after all these years he stlll blows me away..he's got more soul style & imagination in his little finger than most of of todays modern drummers,i find a lot of rock n roll drummers today are pretty soulless ! its all about the technique ..& That Bores me ! if it aint got soul & swing?? it don't mean a thing !!! & Brain Downey has it all my friends ! he is the the master of soulful rock n roll Drumming.......show your love for Brian @ The Brain Downey appreciation society on Facebook....cheers ;-)

Great Brian Downey solo.....Louis Bellson would have been proud. Thin were always better live. Unlike Queen, that I saw several times in the early 70's...their studio recordings, e.g.Queen 2, were sublime; on stage, then, a routine group with Brian May standing out..

Don't forget about Thin Lizzy when they were a trio. I have their first three LPs on Japan SHM-CD and they sound like you are in the studio. Shades isn't as good but an improvement, from the original CD release, which is really muddy sounding.
