I remember the first time I heard this song. I started listening to the Stones via my grandfather. I was 12 going on 13. I'm 14 now.

Whenever I hear this delightful period piece my heart beats a little faster and I am a teenager again and I cannot stop thinking about Mary Ann Faithful, Mick's girlfriend at the time. "doing things I used to do, they think are new'... More than great.   Music can be a great 'time traveler'.

A7X brought me here, I like avenged version better, but you gotta give credit to The Rolling Stones for making this great song in the first place

This song is truly amazing , if you think about it. How many songs as this one did the Stones do? Not many. Most of their music was wild R'N'R', but this shines a spotlight on how good they really were./Joe Engman

The Stones' version of this song that Mick and Keith originally co-wrote for Marianne Faithfull... the stripped-back instrumentation, with no percussion at all, but opening with a 12-string guitar, and then a string section starting with the second verse, was inspired by The Beatles' "Yesterday."
