Di tanto in tanto mi capita di sentire una canzone e, dai primissimi secondi, realizzare che mi è già entrata dentro, innescando il meccanismo del “devo ascoltarla in ripetizione finchè inizierò ad odiarla”. E’ un fenomeno simile al colpo di fulmine, impazzire per un qualcosa senza, in realtà, sapere nient’altro se non come ti fa sentire.I need my girl, pezzo tratto dall’attesissimo “Trouble will find me”, mi ha rapito dall’istante in cui ho sentito il riff di chitarra, tanto semplice da riuscire a farmi venire la pelle d’oca; è una canzone che potrebbe vivere semplicemente di voce e chitarra ma che diventa davvero tremendamente bella quando, durante la seconda strofa, la batteria inizia a scolpire il ritmo e l’atmosfera diviene più grave ogni qual volta si sente quella nota, distorta e trascinata, creata sbattendo la chitarra a terra .
