Man, that's the thing about the Kinks, they got so much good stuff, once ya' get past the hits. And with this tune, you can almost hear their later, 70's style, almost being formed.

This was a big 'Freakbeat' style Mod revival record around the mid-90s. Some of us thought there was only a few of us left riding our lambrettas and refinding our roots with records like this - thanks goes to DJs like Rob Bailey

The Who have their place in Rock History. It's just not anywhere near The Kinks, whose early work, meaning '64, is as good if not better than The Beatles. I have to leave the Stones out of the 1964 era due to their huge amount of great cover songs. Looking at The Who's body of work, truly tells the story of where they are in terms of an "all-time" great rock band. Their debut LP, Who's Next, Quadrophenia and Tommy are The Who's "best albums"--unless we toss in Live At Leeds...

Kinks are, pound for pound, as good as the Beatles (who I love). Love your Stone Roses ranking. Their debut is my favorite album of all time.

This has gotta be my favorite Kinks song. I played in a band a long time ago, and we covered this gem. I never had the right-hand wrist flick Dave has on the guitar, but did the best I could. The Kinks rock!

Not only wasn't it a hit, it was only the B-side of the 1968 single only release "Days" Great track covered by The Romantics on their first album.

You are absolutely right! I would change the order a little though... 1. Kinks 2. Beatles 3. Stones Roses LOL

Your guess is as good as mine! Maybe the record producers just didn't see this song as a hit. Who knows!
