Yeah, I agree they were one of the best bands ever, probably because of their unique sound,. They didn't sound like everybody else, I think I read some where that the reason they didn't do more US touring was because they had an argument with the stage union workers and so they were banned,. Don't know if it's true or not, But I think they did like ten albums or something like that. Long live rock and roll.

Now, people, this a british band with more than a little talent.  Appealed to folks older than 13 and even to so called tuff males.  Yes, other brit bands were in this class.  Dave Clark 5, Rolling Stones to name a couple.  I was a bit too old and male so the wrong gender to properly appreciate the Beatles.....Hey U had to be female and 13 with a mouth fulla bubble gum to relate to "I wanna hold yer hand"  in 1963.  I was 16, owned a car and long past hand holding stage with girls.  More like back seat at the movies.  Beatles were the first boy band.  short on talent at first long on promotion.  took them several years to learn to play their instruments as well as members of the DC5, Kinks, Stones, did on their first records.  Beatles hadta murder their first drummer to find Ringo who could actually hold a beat 3 min.  Beatles really never came together as a band until Maybe the "White Album"  Meanwhile.....DC5 did " Catch us if U can"  Jagger had his toungue into every girl in sight.  The who had everybody guessing who they were.  Pink Floyd was getting fired up.  Kinks were finding lola was a tranny.  and the Beatles were still burning Norwegan wood.  Other Brit Bands ROCKED while Beatles sang silly love songs for preteen girls.  OK, that was their market niche.  Preteen girls,  Same group that made NO Talent Elvis popular 10 yrs earlier.  Took until the late 60's or early 70's for bands and songwriters to become recognized for musical talent rather than promotional Hype.    Hey, don't mind me, this is just an overview of popular music from a kid who got his first radio in 1952.  What the hell do I know?  I only lived and grew up with it.
