From the CD - Through The Trees

The giant of Illinois

Died from a blister on his toe

After walking all day through the first winter's snow

Throwing bits of stale bread to the last speckled doves

He never even felt his shoe full of blood

Delirious with pain, his bedroom walls began to glow

And he felt himself soaring up through falling snow

And the sky was a woman's arms

The sky was a woman's arms

A boy with a club foot

Had sat next to him in school

Once upon a summer's day they went wandering through the woods

They spotted a sleeping swan

On the banks of a muddy stream

And they stormed it with rocks till it collapsed in the reeds

They lay out on a green lawn full of chocolate and lemonade

But under the blue bowl the giant was afraid

Because the sky was a woman's arms

The sky was a woman's arms

Good but I do prefer Andrew Bird's cover. Feels so much deeper.

My only point is this. It's art. The band didn't put this footage on YouTube against their song. Someone else did. And regarding truth... "they lay up on a hillside made of chocolate and lemonade"... Not truth, art. Great song. And I'm sure Mr Wadlow was an extraordinary person.

My sympathies to you that you receive negative votes for pointing out the truth. I'm sure Mr Wadlow would have pointed this error out too.

Well then they ought to have found a better word rather than mess with the truth.

Song or no song, the fact remains the blister was still on his ankle. Shame a person can't point out the truth without being berated.

nobody else is tall like that, but all the men in the family are tall. His father at just shy of 6 feet was one of the few short ones. Robert Wadlow is my 4th cousin.
