The Fall Of Troy's The Hol[ ]y Tape From The Album Doppelganger

None of this has changed, when we all look the same.

Addicted to the one that left you, we can't forget you.

We colonized in war, predicting many more.

Addicted to the hand that fed you, you can't remember.

Your color. I wonder...

The more trouble that we get in,

The more fun if we don't get caught up in it.

Prefabricate that skin!

Help me find out, if this is all predictable.

Or is your troubled fate, relentless in it's ways,

Destroying all your days?

(These words coincide!!! Self-taught suicide!!!)

When the song drops into the bridge before Tim's vocals, it sounds like some kind of portal to another dimension opened... then you step through and there's no saving you. Favorite band.

I can't believe they're back together. I was so pissed when they came to Ft. Collins a few years ago and I couldn't get a ticket because they were sold out at the Aggie. I knew this was the last chance I would get to see them and I missed it. Oh well, I get another chance, I'm sure they'll stop by Colorado again.

By the way, the title of this song is a House of Leaves reference.

Haha yes. I pictured similar things. Or like some sort of epic yet sad realization

I don't know why, but the bit after the outro always makes me picture a scenic view of people hiking up a mountain to some ancient ruin. It just sounds amazing!

Tom Erak is a fucking brilliant lyricist. Pretty much sums up the Iraq war in a few short words. He's a fantastic singer and guitarist, but fuck me, he can write killer songs.

The parts marked as "[ ]" were from the burns. I just read that section today... and the Holloway Tapes. Then our power broke and I've been in the dark alone for a while and I felt a bit like Tom Navidson until it got fixed.

I read the book, there are spots missing because the the book is about a research report about a documentary about a house. The old man writing the research report went a bit insane while writing it and bits of the text were loss due to rips, burning, ink spills, and something like tar at one point two. I can't remember exactly what marked out the parts missing in Holloway, but it was a chapter about one of the characters, this song is basically a character song for Holloway Roberts.
