I remember this song. I heard it for the first time on the Peel sessions when living in Paris. It was dark and gloomy, and yes, I mean the weather. It gave it the perfect feel and atmosphere. It's an 80's classic.

coooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!! not heard this in yonks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one of the first singles i bought as a kid in 80s, then loved the various peel sessions double vinyl this appeared on, with witness, happy mondays etc. and now im the ripe old age of 36 and i smile inside, coz the younguns now have picked this tune up n started listenin to it, thinkin its theirs n theyre the first :D just makes me smile :) well where i live they listen to it anyway. thanks for postin the vid. lost all my vinyl

Easily on of the 5 greatest songs of the 80's. This is first version I heard of this song. Stopped me dead in my tracks. Through this song I began exploring Joy Division and The Smiths. I have still only ever met one person that has heard this song. Someday I will have a band that covers this and I will be in total bliss.

Yes! I also prefer the Peel version (though I love both). But the guitars sound FANTASTIC.

@djscotty1111 No, the Chameleons have split twice and given the strong tensions between Mark Burgess and Dave Fielding I am afraid there will never be another reunion. I think the band you probably mean is "ChameleonsVox", which is basicly the Chameleons with other guitar players. Everyone who has seen "John Lever's 2nd Skin" (basicly the same concept) performing live will be quite sceptical about that. I hope that at least ChameleonsVox will have more competent personnel on guitar.
