This video was recorded at the Beach Boys historic concert at Knebworth House on June 21st 1980. It proved to be the last time that the original Beach Boys: Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson and Alan Jardine, would appear together on a UK stage.

The Beach Bunny Brings Cowabunga to the Yard!Apart from being born a blatant water sign with every right to love, lavish and live in the sea, I have no clue about how to surf with shock wave here and shock wave there this really isn't for me.(“If Everybody Had An Ocean”)However after listening to the live version of the famous boys on the beach’s song, I have taken a huge interest in at least fantasizing about the wave whether I miss it or not I’m sure as hell going to watch it more closely.(“A Bushy Bushy Blonde Hairdo”)I guess it takes a punchy, upbeat and catchy vocal to set me off into the weird and wonderful adventures of the wave. I’m never going to attempt surfing because to be quite honest I wouldn't even know what to do and where to begin can hardly balance my two personalities let alone balance a surfboard in between my legs. (“You'd catch 'em surfin' at Del Mar Ventura County line Santa Cruz and Trestles Australia'sNarrabeenAll over ManhattanAnd down Doheny Way”)But watching it would be fun.(“Everybody's gone surfin”)What encouraged me most is the way the song starts by storytelling and being as descriptive as possible in the line of hysteria it makes you want to be there, get going and boarding your ticket asap. (“We'll all be planning that routeWe're gonna take real soonWe're waxing down our surfboardsWe can't wait for JuneWe'll all be gone for the summer”)One thing I've always loved is the idea of going places and exploring new cities and the words and lyrics in regards to district, zones, islands, shores and resorts makes the whole idea fundamentally appeasing.What adds to the feel and pleasure of the song is the “Inside, Outside USA background singing during the chorus.(“Haggerties and SwamiesPacific PalisadesSan Onofre and SunsetRedondo Beach L. A.All over La JollaAt Wa'imea Bay”)“Bombora”, “Bone Yard” and Boogie Board” were phrases that impressed me as it heighten a fierce interaction with a potentially unforgettable experience. I can imagine after going through a big wave (Swiftness) then lying down (Tranquility) the translation looks and feels improbable. In fact I couldn't think of any excuse to replace such an adrenaline in such a short space of time. Remember this is something I would love to watch as oppose to feeling it.Instrumentally played to perfection, it has left me beach surf mentally curious and I’m waving you goodbye x9 years ago
