Leonardo, Michelangelo, McCartney & Lennon, Brian Wilson, there are times when genius is rampant in the world tht could only come from whatever your favorite higher power is, even the other Beach Boys say Brian had some otherworldly antenna picking up signals only he could hear, Brian is one of those the gods smiled upon or how else to explain where these sounds come from... seeing the images taken during the recording session there was not one bored or unhappy face on any of the musicians, every man-jack of them knew they were part of a very special and once-in-a-lifetime moment of creation that would stand forever as an example of pure musical excellence, never to be copied or duplicated again. "Love and Mercy" captured some of this although, I don't know why they swapped in Cusack for Paul Dano as "older Brian"? You only had to watch the first part to see that Dano would have been more then capable of doing the entire movie as Brian. Cusack was fine but, the question is why even do such an actor swap. Also Giamatti as (mad) Dr Landy, makes the second half work but again, no reason for swapping Brians...
