Absolutely stellar playing, really. The power is astounding, but limpid and overly "classical" where the interpretation is concerned. I don't understand why a lot of people commenting think this is the "best interpretation." It may be so if you are strictly conservative and think this should sound like an Italian opera overture, but in my opinion this conductor's interpretation lacks the fire and aggression necessary for epic American film music.
