Just watched Peggy Lee on an old Ed Sullivan TV show this morning. Have always loved listening to her smoky voice and she was so alluring. I read that this was her first no 1 hit record.

Different style, different feel. I like both. [I presume you are referring to the version made by Kid T in Earthquake McGoon's?] This version does have the huge added plus of Peggy Lee's vocal. I think vocals enhance a tune, as we get an added dimension. As for soul, I think both have soul in their own way and I find it a difficult commodity to weigh!

Are you kidding? Nothing comes close to the best. Listen to that beat and rhythm. Charlie

Pretty Peggy and Benny, It don't get much better than that. Benny went to bat for Peggy or she would have been history. Benny was a self centered Jew who knew talent.
