One of the most famous songs of Sam Cooke, the "father of soul".

Cupid draw back your bow

And let your arrow go

Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid please hear my cry

And let your arrow fly

Straight to my lover's heart for me

Now I don't mean to bother you

But I'm in distress

There's danger of me losing all of my happiness

For I love a girl who doesn't know I exist

And this you can fix So...

Cupid draw back your bow

And let your arrow go

Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid please hear my cry

And let your arrow fly

Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid with your arrow make her love strong for me

I promise I wll love her until eternity

I know between the two of us her heart we can steal

help me if you will So...

Cupid draw back your bow

And let your arrow go

Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid please hear my cry

And let your arrow fly

Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid

don't you hear me

calling you

I need you

Cupid

help me

I used to love "Oh What A Wonderful World It Would Be" when I was 8. Taped it from the radio whilst I was staying at my Aunt and Uncle's place. The song is about 20 years older than I am.

I was born in 1982, but this singer makes me weep just like Elvis, Michael Jackson, Roy Orbison and Kurt Cobain! Cheers to all those hard workers because they never gave up and helped society understand new levels!!!

On this day in 1961 {May 13th} Sam Cooke played to a 'standing room only'* crowd at the Keil Auditorium in St. Louis, Missouri...Less than a month later on June 5th, 1961 his "Cupid" would entered the Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at #85; seven weeks later on July 24th, 1961 it would peak at #17 {for 3 weeks} and it spent 12 weeks on the Top 100...Between 1957 and 1966 he had forty three Top 100 records; four making the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "You Send Me" for 3 weeks in 1957...He just missed having seven Top 10 records when he had three records peak at #11; "Little Red Rooster", "Good News", and "Good Times", and all three records each stayed on the Top 100 for 10 weeks...Sam Cooke passed away on December 11th, 1964 at the young age of 64...May he R.I.P.* Capacity of the Keil Aud in 1961 was 9,300 patrons...

Oh my God. This is the greatest love song in human history. It's ashamed he died so young. RIP Father of Soul.
