Last thought - as everyone knows by now - he did not go deaf. He has Meneire's Disease but he is alive, well, and kicking ass more than ever! I think it's awesome that he did this song last night on Letterman. Thoughts?

Lol, technically, he did announce his retirement after the last record before Ashes and Fire. He had inner ear troubles to deal with plus marriage.

When I'm not in the best of moods, I can always refer to ANYTHING Ryan and whichever band he's got playing with him, and I'll feel better. Cheaper than paying for therapy. GOD BLESS David Letterman.

I think he's good. Too bad I don't think I have any talent. I tried making up a song and I thought it was pretty awful.

Overlooked maybe--as a pretty darn good shredder--play the ax with some verve and feeling.

Very inspiring performance.Demolition is Ryan's most underrated album. Sure it's not a "proper" album but it contains some of his best gems.

@enviroguy101958 I am 99% sure that is Brad Rice. He played on Demolition, as well as on some of the Whiskeytown tours.

Definitely Ryan's most bizarre phase.. I kind of feel like he was searching for a new voice at this point, but he really hit his stride immediately after as far as transcending genres is concerned.
