Thankyou sir / madam ; you're spot on, exactly what I was looking for. Silly me I thought it was Tom T but am not surprised it's Roger another friend of Lawsy. Thanks again

Many artists have recorded this. I think Glen Campbell wrote it? Statler Brothers also sing it. So do Oak Ridge Boys and others I had never heard of before: Jimmy Hood, Bill Staines, Dave Rich. I had no idea Roger Miller did it. :)

I got here because "Dang Me" was going through my head yesterday. Bounced around Roger Miller songs for a while til I hit a new favorite - this one. I can't song along because this song chokes me up. I've lost count of the replays. Google does not find a CD to buy. Where did this come from?

Never listened to John Laws (ratbag radio) but know this is the best version of "Less of Me" Only Roger could bring out that extra dimension. Have a listen to "the Last Word in Lonesome is Me."

every time i hear this song, i feel like a roast pork roll from the (then) local takeaway - use to listen to john laws every day at work , then this would come on and it'd be lunch time.

This is the Ten Commandments 'in song'. Truly inspirational. If the human race lived by this basic credo we'de have no more war or dispute. Happiness and peace would be ours.

Oh the days of Lawsie on the radio. 'I thank you for listening. You be kind to each other.'
