Thanks to YT because I can hear again this wonderful version of this classic bolero, casually heard in the radio many years ago. And thanks to thejunkjerk for posting it. The singing and arrangements are great. Even if Miss Flack s pronounciation is not perfects, she s got so much feeling.

It wouldn't have the same magic effect if this song is ever sung in English. just wouldn't, It's been sang by many groups, I think eartha kitt has a version too. This was also made a hit by a Peruvian group called los pasteles verdes.It's a song about asking why are all the angels painted white and why do we never see any angels in the cathedrals painted in black?hard to translate but this is the best way to kinda interpret it.
