If someone comes here just to see Yngwies equipment and not a fan of his music...fine, but don't dis him as a player. So many clueless like to get on the silly "he plays fast and has no soul" BANDWAGON. If you don't like shredding as a listener, FINE, no need to dis the guy, and why are you here in the in the 1st place??? Anyone that says that obviously has NOT listened to much of his music. Yngwie has a lot of slow bluesy SONGS on virtually all his records. His leads have so much style and feeling it's unbelievable. I've seen him live and he broke out into the most amazing blues jam i've ever seen. Yngwie often breaks into a jam with his band live. Yngwie plays slow blues just as amazing as his shredding and he keeps showmanship and flash alive, which today is lacking. I don't understand why folks have to dis a player like Yngwie just because he's a great showman with skills to match. Most MUSICIANS especially guitar players respect Yngwie because they listen and know what guitar skill IS and how hard and long it takes to get to his LEVEL, that DESERVES RESPECT. Some other players may not like his style, but respect him as a player, and Yngwie EARNED IT, ON HIS OWN.

I read an Yngwie's interview in that he said his guitars' action is very high. I don't see in this video any extreme string height in his guitars.

BLAST ZONE 2015

Yngwie was a very important guitarist back in the early 80's because he took it a step( or many steps) further post Eddie Van Halen, as far as speed and flash, but also in technical virtuoso ness, and..also Yngwie was a great stage performer really over the top ! he is an original, that many have tried to copy..but fall short. in closing- it is good that Yngwie is still around touring and recording, it seems his talents are still remaining- intact, he must be living right, you guys that crack fat jokes about him- eat a dick.

Lol, he may play super light gauge strings, but his action's high as shit. NOT the typical shredder setup I would imagine, but GREAT for tone (not so much for intonation though, if playing anything more sophisticated than simple power chords).

I'm always a bit scared to watch any clip with (let's put it like this ->) YJM ;) I'm always afraid i'd be too embarrassed, to watch it comfortably. And for most of those times it turns out i was right. If you watch something like that alone it's just pure embarrassement. Thankfully if you watch that with someone else you can relieve that feeling by going into state of hardcore almost laughter. It's the only way to survive encounters with Yngwiee J Malmsteen,

Yngwie did make a point when you go out in space, the're are only two man made objects you can see, one is The Great Wall Of China, one is Yngwie Malmsteens gut.

While I'm not an enormous fan of Malmsteen as a player, one thing I will give him is he has tone to absolutely die for.

Why spend millions of dollars in a wall of vintage tube Marshalls, dozens of '57 strats (or whatever guitar he uses), guitar techs etc. to end up sounding like a cheap Ibanez guitar plugged to a cheap digitech guitar processor into a cheap crate pedal?? its great that he developed and introduced his sweep thing but unfortunately he never made anything useful with it, All his songs are very simple bass and drum tracks I(which any cheap keyboard can reproduce) with him playing on top of them in a never ending display of self indulgence and his "neoclassical" jibber jabber, like he is some sort of "maestro". And let's face it, the only people who dig his shit are washed up hags with their heads up the ass of the good old 1980's. Am I not right?? Honestly..
