The Lazer is literally the coolest thing ever, just because he played it.

I wonder what it is about Firebirds and Music Man Amps? I remember Gatemouth Brown always played his Firebird through a Music Man too.

I heard BB King tell the same story - he described Winter and the whitest guy he'd ever seen.

RIP the single greatest non-black blues talent, ever. What might people pay to see a film of Winter hoisting Lucille over his shoulder, as a cold walk-on teenage jammer, with an unsuspecting BB King and his 12-piece band? My bet, we could find someone in that black community who was at that performance, and recall it for us - I guarantee Mr King remembers it. The blues and jazz world ran with humility, grace and some charity in those days thanks to gentlemen like Mr King, and Winter I have no doubt thrilled him, and that room. If Johnny broke his voice out into that falsetto yodel of his, I am sure he got whoops and hollers.

One of the greatest musical artists ever. It's hard to believe he's gone.
