At one point in his life, Josh tried to sound the most different, weird. All of his success derived from that weirdness, the willingness to be different than everyone. That is what makes these classic songs so awesome. Sounded like no one before or even after. There were so many classics in the early QOTSA days because they were creating something new, something different. I lived through it all and that was a great era of music, the early internet days. You could get all this music for free off of Napster. I always bought the Kyuss/QOTSA/Slo Burn/Unida albums because I wanted to support the artists. But the era and freedom opened my mind to so many other bands around the globe. It would take maybe 2-3 hours to download, but it was worth the wait.
