Great version. Hearing all of those rips and curls by Gilmour in the end are a fantastic addition. Thanks for the post-glad I found it.

Roger regrets for letting Roy sing. He never liked his vocals. See WYWH documentary. He says he could do better if he persevered with it and I agree with him. So you people who say the band chose Roy and was pleased with his version and bla bla bla - you are wrong so STFU! Not because they liked it, but because they were too exhausted to do better at that time. But they could if not the certain circumstances. Period. And that son of a bitch Roy is a child molester? Forget it, they should just erase his voice on all WYWH copies right now.

Glad Roy did this. This one just isn't as good.

This is going to be very popular in the near future, if Roy is found guilty. Floyd fans will be deleting the album version to replace with this.

This is rare the Actual Pink Floyd band vocals they used Roy Harper to do this on vocals in the album only time Pink Floyd brought in an outsider to sing there songs besides Bob on the Wall soundtrack

Definitely would agree that Gilmour's vocals don't seem to work here. Waters was ok but Roy Harper vocals was the best for HAC. But as a Pink Floyd fan, this is a great version.

You listen to this one and you listen to the original, and there is no question. The original with Roy Harper is twice the song as this one, (which sounds almost like a demo rather than a finished recording.)It's said that Waters took a shot at this and didn't like it, Gilmore took on and the same, and then this one with the two together, and no one felt they had really nailed the song.Harper stepped up and said, "I'll do it, for a price." And the rest is history. They loaded this one up all the way with backing tracks, guitars, keys, and the works. Even though Waters would have preferred he had finalized this himself, it's totally past him at this point.Harper's phrasings are absolutely FIRST RATE. He nails the vocals in every respect, fills them out, gives them life, and as Waters says, created a "parody" of the record exec in the song, (whereas he would have delivered this with more "vulnerability." ??(How vulnerable is your average beached whale record exec?)We get it that Water will always be jealous for his songs, and hey, y'know what, HE'S GOT A RIGHT TO BE. Some of the most transcendent progressive rock tunes ever created, and he is the major driving force for most all of it. This song is HIS, and he has more right of ownership than anyone. That said, Harper's version kicks major tail and the song would've been majorly diminished had anyone else covered it. The rest of the band was right in overruling Water's preference on this one, (no matter how he ultimately feels about it.)

Prefer the version with Roy's vocals. His voice brings the lyrics to life.

Clearly you can hear all three (Roger, Roy and Gilmour) sing on this one. Roger did the verses and it is all Roy on the chorus. Gilmour is back up.
