Well, I don't really agree with everyone else. I think the orchestra is there, as it so often is for this kind of thing, largely just for the sake of being an orchestra. Some of the arrangements are really complex, and the band is well-rehearsed, but most of it could be done rather better by Tony Levin and someone with some keyboards. There's nothing about these songs that inherently requires 60 voices and the purity of acoustic sound is lost in the business of recording it, mixing it, sending it out in some lossy format, and playing it through computer speakers. All the orchestra does is lend a veneer of something 'classical' to the proceedings. And though I love Jesca Hoop, the backup singing here isn't all that, either. Gabriel's voice is impressive, though.

In the mid to late 80's i was a kid and one night on tv one of those " the magic of david copperfield" specials came on and my family and i watched it and every magic trick he did always featured great music. He did one trick & this song came on & i hadnt heard it before but i was immediately hooked. That show also had the song "one more chance" by the pet shop boys which is a tremendously great new wave rock/electronic song.
