can somebody who likes the original one realy think this is terrible?? i don't think so, the only really biiiig difference is the ending, which I loved i I don't think somebody can dislike. You are right in saying this should be performed more often, just as i would like to hear aldo IN MY TREE, IMMORTALITY, SLEIGHT OF HAND, SPEED OF SOUND or RED MOSQUITO... they are hardly ever played, and are some of my favourite pearl jam songs ever

one thing I love about Pearl Jam is that they sound just as good live as they do in the studio.

this song is like blue cheese or an IPA, takes some development to appreciate - yet appreciation is deep and thorough..

While another band give one color to their music and it's make me bored to listen them everyday. But Pearl Jam has much color to choose and that's why I'm still listening to this band since 1991 until today.

Pain, 17 years hence, is unfuckingfettered beauty today. This song is a beauty locker.

Matt's a great drummer...and to a degree, more "technically" skilled than Jack - but just doesn't play this song with the same "feel" that to me, makes this song. He's playing straight 1/4 notes on the bass drum rather than the triplet pattern that really sets the groove on Jack''s original performance. Watched this right after the Berlin '96 version - can't hold a candle to it!
