Try loving him not judging and criticizing him and do not connect your feeling to his mother with him. just love him he did not ask to be born but everyone has value. I am a mother that has 2 adult children and we are the adults the parents. Children will make mistakes, it is how they learn in life as they grow up and we must teach and love them to develop them into a balanced healthy adult.

I had a terrible father. I last spoke to him 20 years ago. He left my mother for another woman when I was 13 and happily raised her son the same age as me, and I've heard from exactly once in all that time, 2 days after my 14th birthday which is only 2 days away from his. Despite that I'd rather have him than a father like one capable of making that type of statement. Shame on you.
