Re-edit of Hullabaloo show. The producer treated the Raiders like dirt and served them the ultimate indignity of having the Righteous Brothers butt in before they'd hardly got started.

Well Kramman01... Firstly it doesn't seem as though they're lip synching to "Just Like Me"; secondly, from the background, this looks more like "Hollywood a' Go Go." and not "Hullabaloo."

They belong right now, in fact, not now, but 25 years ago, in the Rock Hall of Fame. Insanely good and ahead of their time.

Love the go-go dancers...Hey, young kids, rockers can learn a lot from Paul + his Raiders. I mean there's a lot to revere, right? Seriously these guys had MC5's garage rock sound down. Yet they could play their instruments. I don't know who mixed them but their songs came out of the radio and punched you in the gut, made the girls swing their hips and after a few listens made ya think. Thanks for the post.

The Raiders were the house band for Where the Action Is?, an afternoon band show. I saw the Raiders play in Huntington, WV, in 1965. I was only eleven, but my folks let my sister and I go to the concert without adult supervision. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, but they hadn't let us go to the Beatles concert in Cleveland stadium in 1964. Neither of my parents wanted to go so we didn't get to go. (Drat!)

On this day in 1966 {February 5th} Paul Revere & the Raiders performed "Just Like Me" on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'... Two months earlier on December 4th, 1965 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #11 and spent 15 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #28 on the Canadian RPM Singles chart... R.I.P. Mr. Clark {1929 -2012} and Paul Revere, aka Paul Revere Dick, celebrated his 75th birthday this past January 7th...

How right you are! Mark's incredible voice was so underrated, even though he had one of the best voices in rock - if not the best!

Loved this. Hullabaloo was one of a very few pop shows shown here in New Zealand. We knew and loved all the songs but only now can appreciate seeing wondrous bands in all their glory. In the 60's all the big English bands came here but seldom the American ones. Must be in the blood.

They kept making fun of lip synching by deliberately screwing it up- too funny. I remember they eventually got to host their own show- was it The Happening or Where the Action Is? In one of those shows I remember seeing them frolic on the Malibu and Santa Monica/Venice beaches.

Great performance by Mark Lindsay and Co. Too bad Hullabaloo treated the Raiders like dirt. Great edit nontheless. They looked cool in street clothes (in those days they wore early american costumes). Too bad Drake, Fang and Smitty had to leave and eventually Mark. The Raiders are not the same. :(

It's a 60's kind of a Tuesday - I remember my baby sister Lynner teaching my brother Mark and I how to do the "The Jerk" and "The Monkey " to this song...
