General Big George and the P-Funk Army doing a field maneuver with a JB classic  arranged by Sly Stone. What a mash up.

This is the real P-FUNK indeed. I was moved by the sound from Tokyo.

I'm sorry...lets get our heads out of the clouds..for this to have all of the names associated with it...the legends..THIS IS BULLSHIT. It is NOT funky...they  definitely could have come up with something better. It was James Browns energy that made this corny ass song work. For anyone else to cover it...it doesn't work. For Sly, Bootsy, Maceo, Fred, and George to cover it and this is the best they could do with it??!! Forget it. WE NOW KNOW WHO THE REAL KING OF FUNK IS. JAMES MADE THIS SONG WORK...THESE GUYS SOUND LIKE A WEDDING BAND.

@ccfunk1 Anybody can sample, but not everyone can sample to make a great record

Bad as, super, super rare, record, written and produced by the Clinton Cabinet Ministers of Funk and apparently spawned a James Brown version or vice versa. JB also recorded "Bring the Funk on Down with George Clinton.

why does the sound drop about 2 minutes in? (it comes back shortly after ... classic Fred and classic Maceo... and nothing wrong with a George Clinton spin on a great original!

I got the single while visiting George Clinton's Funky Farm in the '80s for a home story. The session was supposed to be a collaboration between George Clinton, Sly Stone and James Brown. GC told me that JB was present at the session but left because he thought there was too much cussing going on. ;-)
