I hear Basie on the left, Oscar on the right......and the musical mid-brain, shared by the bass player and Bellson, is Right Dead Center.**Sidney VincentI should be in bed, but cannot leave this music.+Sidney VincentI sympathize completely!**IrishDutchmanI strongly recommend their duet album 'Yessir, That's My Baby'. The songs are all played in a similar format, the two of them taking turns. It's the best record I know, the last two tracks are simply flawless. Sadly, it's nowhere to be found on youtube. I think you can find a copy on Amazon though, you won't regret it.+IrishDutchmanAlthough I've never heard it, didn't they have an LP on Pablo out in the '70's called "Satch and Josh?"**IrishDutchmanCorrect, but I prefer Yessir, That's My Baby.+IrishDutchmanThanks for the tip. I'll check it out.

Dos grandes reunidos, Oscar Peterson y Count Basie, para este clásico "Sweet Lorraine", escrito en 1928 e interpretado por casi todos los grandes. Preciosa versión. Disfrútala!

One of the sweetest songs, played by the best. Brings back memories of the time I lived in Lorraine, France, working in a coal mine.

Basie had the most delicate and lyrical touch of any pianist. His band could distract you, but pieces like this told the tale. And this is THE quintessential recording. Oscar Peterson and the others are exquisite too. This is my favorite jazz piano recording bar none.

I started piano lessons to learn to read music about two years ago. I have played by ear since age ten. I had to quit each lesson after 30 minutes because that sittng position was too painful Tuesday I have surgery to correct a pinched nerve.Reading these comments this morning has finally made me realize how very fortunate I am and it's time to start lessond again. God gave this ability to me and I better use it.

MY IDOLS BOTH OF THEM, FOREVER. I wish I was born 50 years earlier, so I wouldn't know about today's world shit and would have been able to go to every concert of Basie and Oscar.

It is John Heard - with Louie Bellson on drums.

Two distinctly different piano styles, yet complementing each other in interpreting a song we know from Nat King Cole and Earl Hines. The Count is on the left channel, Oscar on the right. Listen to this twice, to just focus on the comfortable carpet laid down for them by bassist John Heard (in fact the third solist) and drummer Louis Bellson.
