Na'ara Ushma Kineret is based on a legend on the origin of Yam Kineret, known in English as the Sea of Galilee. In a village in the Galil lived a young girl who played the harp (in Biblical Hebrew, "kinor") beautifully, and therefore she was called Kineret. She played the harp for her love, Elchanan. One day bandits attacked the village and Elchanan went to fight them, and was killed. When Kineret heard the news she cried endlessly. Her tears turned into a sea in the shape of a harp.
