Started singing this song when I was a teenager. Now I am almost 41, like he says in the song. Time flies.

I'm 15 years old and country music has no place to go when it's over, so tonight we'll listen to haggard and jones, and kick out today's country songs.

I'm 50 years old and I never grew up with country music. My parents were all about Doris Day and Nat King Cole. This dude struck me as a wonder. Holy friggin crap, YES! Love the dude!

If any of you watch The Trailer Park Boys. Checkout the backup singer so looks just like Barb!

It just amazes me, you look in every Merle video & Bonnie is always into it & smiling...she always has that look like there is no other place she'd rather be than singing behind Merle..What a great lady. btw. this song was off Merle's 1979 album "Serving 190 Proof".

I saw the Hag two nights ago in Winchester, VA. It was my third time seeing Merle. His voice isn't quite what it once was, but he's still better than most all these country "stars" of today. He played this song and sure enough walked away without no curtain call. If you have the chance go see him while you still can.
