Martha Tilton - (Benny Goodman) Bob White 'madhattan room'

The Sweetheart of Swing with Benny Goodman 's Orchestra October 1937. Cleffers: Mercer-Hanighen.

Martha Tilton was probably best known as Benny Goodman's songstress.

She was initially billed as the Sweetheart of Swing before becoming better known affectionately as The Liltin' Miss Tilton.

Goodman kept Martha busy and between October 1937 and the summer of 1939, he placed in excess of thirty recordings on the American Top 20 of which Martha's vocals were featured on 27 tracks including two chart-toppers.

Cute song. Listen to Mildred Bailey's version sometime. Her particular take on it makes it really swing with her comedic timing.

I love this song. Connie Boswell & Bing ruined their version with his jibber jabber.

A snappy tune from the film HOLLYWOOD HOTEL which featured BG and his band. No Martha Tilton, though. Pity!

@studedude43 Initially I believed this may have been a little faster and a bit more "boppy" BUT I just listened to the Victor version and You Are Correct, they are very, very, similar. They did one more live version but it is also similar. I elected to remove the other video (Victor 25683) because YouTube had plastered it with TOO much advertising. Thanks for the comment.
