Magic Sam was one of the best players on the Chicago scene n the 60's.His style was somewhat different than the straight 12-bar blues. He seemed to have the tremolo going in his playing, & his voice. One of the all time greats that no on knows about. Too bad he died at 32 of a heart attack, he was just hitting his stride.

On the cover it's a cherry red Epiphone Riviera; Sam loved this guitar (Otis Rush owned the same at this period); but on this record he played his stratocaster.

bought this album when it first was released and pretty much wore it out, Magic Sam had a very unique sound , very staccato riffs on what I think was a Fender Stratocaster ?

I was just listening to this on a vinyl I picked up and I feel like his voice was way more distorted? I think this sounds better but maybe it's all in my head
