The first time I ever saw Luka Bloom was his live performance of this song for the Earth Day special on VH1 in 1990. I was hanging out with my girlfriend in her dorm lobby and this came on around 11:30-midnight. I was like "Who the F is that!?" I knew the show was on a loop, so I stayed awake to see him again so I could remember his name. This video came on again at 5:30 AM. And he's been one of my favorite artists ever since.

VH1 played this video fairly regularly in 1989 IIRC, but it didn't hit any charts.

From the looks of it, it's a bit of a love story. Little boy, little girl, one settled...one a gypsy (the boy), and then take the rest from there. At least that's what I get from it.

i do love this song..i think it's my favorite, BUT can anyone tell me what the hell the video is about... a bit od irish dancing, and someone riding (bareback) a lovely grey horse. am i just totally thick? i do not get it... ta

Such a great talent Luka is! Thanks for these vids. Do you happen to have any vid off of his "The Acoustic Motorbike" cd? That's my favorite of his, although they're all good.
