Way too slow. It's in Alla Breve time (cut time) and needs to be more faster. Also, the pedal should always remain halfway down as Beethoven instructed on the score in Italian "You have to play all this piece with great delicacy, and without Sordino) - to play this movement without dampers. Obviously, this is hard to replicate on today's modern pianos. In Beethoven's day it would have been considerably easier on the Fortepiano's. However, I cannot fault this rendition completely as this sonata is open to interpretation very vastly, and always will be. There are many performances that replicate this style and tempo, but the delicate playing in this performance is sublime. The mood and emotion is very pure and mesmerising. Somewhat ethereal...
