When I was a kid I thought Leon was black. That's how good he is. :).....Dr. John, too.

Check out all the equipment the camera guys were hauling around in 1970. And as for Leon…I just love em. I'm a straight guy, don't get me wrong. What a presence and musician. I wish I was nearly as prolific as he is as a song writer. But I'll settle for being inspired by him. I'm going to pick up my electric right now. Come here Jumbo.

rom661Yeah,I would like some evidence that Cocker 'hated' Leon, from what I've read they have remained friends through the years.I love his voice, I love his music, I love everything about Leon Russell. I first saw him live back in the 70s. He is an American icon. I saw him last at the House of Blues, he actually was kinda of talkative that night. He put on a knock em' dead performance. He just moves me.

Someone please explain the end. That is one rockin', rousing, great song, and when it ended, you could hear a pin drop for an awfully long time. What was that about? Did it have to do with the session being filmed? I know two professional musicians and they said the only time they see anything like that is when everyone is afraid of pissing the artist off and they are waiting for his lead in what to do and when he doesn't acknowledge the performance, they know not to either. Leon is my favorite musician of all space and time, probably, and I know he's been described as being "difficult", but is that what is going on here? (Happy New Year to all!)

Wow, I just love this... And as the song ends they just go along with their business without acknowledging what a mind blowing performance they just did. Too cool!

Yes, I remember that performance at the Fillmore. Those were really some great times back then. Nothing anywhere near those days now music-wise. Leon always was one of a kind anyhow.
