This guy is my other favorite guitarist of all time. I discovered him in the Summer of 1972 and have been a fan ever since. This cut is from his "A Shout Toward Noon" album from 1986.

His classical, jazz, blues, country style has an amazing favor. Leo is the best I ever heard.

It was '72 when I discovered him, too. He played a college campus near me. Excellent!

I know this guy's work and I've liked him a lot for a few years. But I've never heard this gorgeous song before. It's an even better and more evocative song than the already intensely evocative stuff I've heard from him before. Thank you so much. I'm dropping everything I'm supposed to be doing and going to look for it right now.

Dropped D - or DADGBE. Basically just a progression of ADAEA, playing the E with your thumb hooked over onto 2nd fret of the low E. Of course all played with that Kottke pizazz :)

Leo IS the best and I love this video. Been seeing him live since 1971 and will travel around to visit friends in other cities just so I can go and be at another concert. Ingrid

Man, I never heard this version with the electric piano. I like the "One Guitar, No Vocals" better, the piano gets in the way.

Bridget, what an amazingly thoughtful comment. I discovered Leo's music around 1973 and have been a fan ever since. Glad you enjoyed this video. I almost forgot that I still had it. Dave

The first time I heard this song, and many times after that, I cried, wept... thanks Leo. Sometimes we all feel like we are kicking around empty buildings, alone, and the only sound that we hear is the beating of our own hearts trying to keep time to the universal symphony that rings loud and clear within us, and it's eternal. I believe it was from VH1's "New Visions" show or something similar. I dropped in the audio from my own CD and tried to sync it up accurately, but the original video had some dubious sync'ing on it too. Enjoy! Dave
