The best of the best! Saw her in-believe it or not, Oshkosh Wisconsin in 1970, Albee Hall. I think tickets were $8.00. Man, those were the days.

It doesn't really matter that she died too young. Who, of us, has touched so many hearts and souls in one lifetime? Enough said.

Thinking of Laura Nyro today. Soulful singing from the heart, expressing emotions, touching the cords, her voice coming up from way down deep inside. What a talent.

@RaveDreamer Lucky you and way to go. Recently spoke to Felix Cavaliere about his working with her. Said she was the "truest artist" he ever knew

I saw her many times as a young man. Her voice was pure and she had a vulnerable but lovely stage presence. I was the 1990 voice in the MTV and VH1 tribute to Laura. She actually acknowledged and thanked me for it. This song, like so many songs from Laura, is inexpressibly beautiful and soulful. I true reflection of the artist that wrote and performed them.

Laura runs through my veins to my soul. " Woman ain't been born " that can touch her lyrics , music, and performance. I feel like I've lost a piece of my heart . I am grateful that she touched my life and gave me the gifts she did. Every word is a gem to be treasured.

That's the thing about the best art - it doesn't matter when or where, it's always true.
