Ronstadt is on top of the mountain......Laura IS the mountain.....great artists I don't compare, thankfully there are many, but Laura we have to factor in her composition skills....her phrasing, and that piano.....this is a tremendous post, thank you...

Oh man do I love this song..........this is why Laura was so sexy and soulful and New York and didn't sound like anyone else before or after. It was this coy sultry harmonic sizzle that made everyone crazy about her in the first place. I never saw fans as crazy and passionate as the "Laura Nyro freaks". Laura, wherever you are are, I'll find you and get you your cap baby. RIP Laura.....you are so missed. How I wish we could bring you back, if just for one day.

Wow... where did this one come from! It's joyous!! Sounds like a sample from Upstairs By A Chinese Lamp. There is a CD That comes with the Laura Nyro notation songbook featuring two demos from the same year, incl a cover of Creepin' by Stevie Wonder.

U are right! This song came from a demo recorded in 1974. There are two others demos, same year: "Someone Loves You" and "Coffee Morning.

Wow, what a beautiful surprise. Never knew this existed. Certainly is not on my copy of Smile cd. Thankyou TONS for uploading it. I've said this before but: in modern popular music there is Laura Nyro, and then there is everybody else.

@Buckspring95 A fair point. Could be an effective way to get Lauras' music out to another generation.

G-d bless the "simplistic" recording techniques that bring us Laura singing harmony with herself.

@Buckspring95 Yes! I have thought that since the show started. What a venue for exposing her to a whole new audience and keeping her brilliant legacy alive. This needs to be done!

Apparently, all three demo tapes, including this one were recorded in 1974...

@Buckspring95 That would be the one time I'd actually watch Glee. I don't like Glee but I'd watch it.
