I honestly mean no disrespect to Kendrick or his fans, but I don't get the hype. His verses and flow are no different or any better than most in the rap game unless I'm missing something. I try to give every artist a chance but I just don't see why people say he's like 2pac or Eminem or the next biggest thing.Like I said, no disrespect. Please someone shed some light on it for me because I'd love to learn and get on the Kendrick bandwagon if what these people say are true. But I can't get into his music enough to follow his success. I don't think he's bad, just nothing special.

The provocative "King Kunta"...or "slave / king" as I would say. I got mixed feelings on this. On one hand, it's such a rap imitation of the Funk-inspired, Bruno Mars-and-Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" it even has the same beat. Pimping a butterfly is a contradiction, since pimping denotes imprisoning and butterfly symbolizes freedom. But, then again, the whole song is full of Oxymorons like "King Kunta", a slave-king or a wealthy black man in a racially oppressive United States ("King Kunta" comes from the main character, Kunta Kinte, a Black slave on the classic "Roots (miniseries)." So, Kendrick is merely challenging the Status Quo and stereotypical perception of blacks, as kings and not slaves. But, I actually do like this song, in addition to that Chickenhead feeling herself at (2:55), now that's what I call Prime Rib! Don't hate...and the abundance of light-skin Bbws, Kendrick, in his Napoleon complex form, has a fascination with everything he's not: big and light-skin. "King Kunta! where you when I was walking?" ...not listening to this lol.
