She really grew into her music. She changes it up, finds ways to keep it fresh and still always has fun with it. She's the best!

I did, actually. She sounded amazing! But I still think she has vocal nodules or something because her voice is raspier than it used to be. Even with nodules, she is still has an amazing god-given gift. I was just saying that I wished when she was younger that she had taken better care of her voice.

God that intro makes me shiver every time I listen to it, I really wish she would re-record this song with this version

Moreover, listen to the Breakaway version of "Because of You" compared to the Reba Duets version (second verse, that is). That's just three years difference and such change.

I saw her on tour in February. She was great, but I don't know why she can't seem to hold her notes on "gone" and "on" in the chorus. Of course it sounds more powerful, it's echoing throughout the entire room as opposed to just in your headphones and ears. I love Kelly and think that she's amazing, but show me another example of a singer's voice that changes that much in just 10 years. She literally sounds like a different person. On the radio, I have to look for two different Kelly voices.

I beg to differ, I saw her on tour recently and she sung a lot more powerful then on CD.

I have the CD versions of Napster "Breakaway," Rolling Stone "Because of You," AOL "Since U Been Gone," AOL "Miss Independent," and AOL "Hear Me." Most of her performances started to be sub-par after she started touring for Breakaway. Do you happen to know the concert from which the live "Beautiful Disaster" was taken?

I agree. My favorites list is stuffed full of older performances (among many more recent ones). I really wish that Kelly had shown restraint in the past. Her power was amazing, but singing like that every night was not a good decision. Do you have a link to any of the Sony Connect performances? I loved those, but I can't find them anywhere on YouTube. I love the VH1 and Rolling Stone ones as well.

I agree 100%. She still does have amazing power, but it depends on the song. It saddens me that her voice isn't the way it used to be. I love listening to performances of her from 2004 or 2005, especially BTHE, the Sony Connect and VH1 versions. Those are some of the most amazing vocal performances ever.

She literally cannot sing "Since U Been Gone" as high or with as much power as she used to (prior to the Hazel Eyes Tour). However, she can sing other songs very powerfully. Another good example of her voice change is "Because of You." She can still sound about the same hitting the "thing" note. But her "far" is raspy where is used to sound pretty.

I know what you mean because she hit some extremely high notes during "Duets" including an A5, which was amazing. However (for a better example) listen to Since U Been Gone from Napster Live back from 2004 or 2005 and then listen to Since U Been Gone back when she sang it for iTunes Sessions last year and it doesn't sound like the same person. Her voice is a lot rougher than it used to be.

Watching one of her performances on "Duets", when she sang "Me and Mrs. Jones" with her student or something like that (lol) She hits a great G#5, I didn't hear it raspy or anything else, I think it sounded very good, I'm juts sayin', I'm not a professional and nothing like that

I get what you are saying but her voice is very raspy now, which only happens when the voice has been misused. The reason she has that lower part of her voice now is because when someone develops a vocal disorder, many times their voice gets lower. Many of her high notes are very forced and if you compare this performance to her performing this song on AOL music sessions back in 2004, there is a big difference.
