I've always felt a deep connection to this song and never understood it. Last year in 2016 my father passed away after having a massive heart attack. A few days later this song came on and I had to pull over because I was weeping. Not to share another "this song got me through xzy story" but it really did. Every time I hear it I remember the pain I went through to stand there at the hospital and watch my own father die. But never before in my entire life had I ever felt God so close to me than when my father died. The pain reminds us heart that this is not our home... the tears I cried were truly healing.
