She was and is the greatest female singer of her generation... she was like the female Sinatra..she ended her career to care for her husband when he got ill

When I was a little girl, I use to listen to an old record of Joni James. I don't know where my mom got it from but I know that the music was old fashioned. I loved it anyway. This song was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid. I use to know all the lyrics and sang along with the record. Thank you for bringing back such great memories!

I first heard Joni James in 1951 when "Why Don't You Believe Me" came out on MGM records. I fell in love with her voice. To me she was the best female singer ever and beautiful. When in the USAF my buddies and I used to watch her when guest starring on 'The Jackie Gleason Show.' We were in March AFB California. Had lots of her records on 45 rpm but, lost them in a tornado in 1973. Am now nearing 80 years of age and listening to her sing still sends shivers up my spine.

SHE WAS THE DARLING OF EVERY ITALIAN IN VANCOUVER WHEN SHE APPEARED HERE WITH HER EXTREMELY TALENTED HUSBAND AND CONDUCTOR ANTHONY ACQUAVIVA. WE SPENT A WONDERFUL DAY AT THE RACES. HE WAS NEVER RECOGNIZED FOR THE GREAT SOUNDS BEHIND HER BUT HE WAS THERE IN CONCERT AND ON VINYL. WE MISS U TONY AND MUCH LOVE JONI FROM ME AND THE PHILLIPONI FAMILY.

A gorgeous album. Actually started as an eight-song, 10 inch L.P. project but after it was finished the record companies decided to make 12-inch LPs the standard. So Joni went back into the studio and recorded four more songs and made an exceptional album even more exceptional. I was always amazed how the original album and the new recordings blended seamlessly. Only a true artist could accomplish that.

Joni's recording of this song and her unique way of interpretation of the lyrics is outstanding.
