I love this version but I also was so impressed with the "Playing for Change" movement.  It is a multimedia movement with a mobile record studio to duo record with local musicians throughout the world.  They do great renditions of many great songs such as Down by the  Riverside, Raggae Got Soul, Stand by Me...etc...check it out.

He can't hit those high notes but that don't mean he's a bad singer. Those low notes he's singing makes the song.

I love this song and Creedence CR's version too, but it always bugged me that the lyrics were "Down in Louisiana just about a mile from Texarkana" cause Texarkana is more than a mile away from the Louisiana state border hahaha

Every morning while I was waiting for my school bus when I was little, my mom would sit in the white rocking chair with me in her lap an sing this song. Her dad sang it to her when she was little too. This song reminds so much of my childhood. Expect I thought the lyrics were and that cotton feels like home instead of them old cotton back home. Thanks for posting this wonderful song!
