In the early '90s I had a mass media professor tell me there was no difference in sound levels between programming and commercials on US network TV--this, even after I demonstrated a 6dB average SPL gain across all broadcast networks. He claimed that all audio was processed through limiters with the same parameters for both programming and adverts. Clueless ass!

I don't care what anyone says. This man had a tune all his own and the songs came out perfect.

He is a poet, and a story teller. His music is timeless. Kinda like B.Dylan

I love John Prine, and I love this song! It brings back memories of my companion, who is the one that got me listening to Prine, and also my sister, miss you George and Evelyn!

Why is this huge corporation trying to sell their 'five hour energy' drink on their commercials?

I think that this is Prine's best song -- and that's saying something.
