I feel like this is a matured and cooled off direction for Mayer.. At the core he has the same heart in his music and its unmistakable, but in the past decade, he's done so much exploring musically, whether it be the Dead and Co, other projects, etc. It's because of this that it only makes sense that he's starting to paint with some other shades, musically. I think this new era of Mayer is going to be absolutely magical and I can't wait to see what he's been cooking up.
