Oh yes, I understand what you mean now. :) Yes, I've heard all the songs you mention, although I must confess I don't particularly like any of those..her songwriting holds nothing special for me. To each their own taste, but speaking for myself I think that Lauderdale is a FAR BETTER songwriter than Harris has ever been a singer...but as they say, opinions are like behinds:everyone has one and everyone values their own first and foremost, lol. ;) Thanks for chatting!

Well, Emmylou's actually written or co-written many songs, not so many in her early career ("Boulder to Birmingham," all the tracks on The Ballad of Sally Rose, Gliding Bird) but more frequently in her later career ("Red Dirt Girl" and many others on Album of same name, as well as will as Stumble into Grace) Also, to clarify, what I meant to say was that Lauderdale is to the songwriting profession what Emmylou is to the song-singing profession~

I wasn't aware that Emmylou Harris was a songwriter. I thought she only covers OTHER people's songs.

Jim Lauderdale, the Emmylou Harris of songwriters.
