Unless I'm mistaken, this was actually on the album "Cass Elliot" from early '72, not "The Road Is No Place For A Lady". Interesting version, I can't help but agree with the 'cabaret' comment. I can imagine it being performed like this on a chat show with the house band!

I am rather surprised to find that Mama Cass , who was Jewish, chose to sing this song. She did a fine job of it though and I salute her for her excellent rendition which is the first version I've heard in which i can understand the lyrics.Thanks for sharing.
