I agree as I replied to 17magnete. People always bring up the domestic violence but even Tina admits the music is still good and it was what it was. Many musicians have these nasty little issues while they were big...women abuse, drugs, prison, statutory rape...the list is everyone from Chuck Berry, Brian Jones, to Ike, and lots more.

Ike is known as a big influence in guitar & song arranging. She wasn't more talented them him in this sense--he wasn't the lead singer, he was the composer, arranger & who decided how the songs were going to be done. I don't think her later music was quite as good as this time, but still good. She already was a superstar before going solo. They were on lots of TV shows & people like Mick Jagger thought highly of her. I was 5/6 in 71/'72 & I sure knew her. In '75 she was in the movie Tommy.

She may have become a 'superstar' but the music quality took a massive dive... Also, she has(had) a fantastic set of pipes on her but in no way was she was more talented than Ike, the nose diving of the quality of music she was producing shows this. I'm not condoning other aspects of the man but he was a far superior musician and had a lot more musical talent.

She was young and she loved him, can even see in this video that she wanted the best for him, And he was simply jealous that she was more talented, very beautiful and loved him even he treated her like shit, I think after split she found new edge, that made her a SUPERSTAR.
