I don't see how Ian makes any $ on his concerts. we had little less than 300 in audience at about $35 a head...then count that divided 3 ways, travel expenses, and the House cut (anyone know the percentage for Alberta Rose?)

I love Ian's ballads. He paints such beautiful pictures. My favorite singer of all time...and I'm a city girl.

On of my all time favorite songs it tells the real story of Casey. Ian Tyson is the very best of my lifetime writing songs of real life & history.

I went with the cowboys and Indians with Casey to the 'Wild West Show" at the World Fair in Brussels Belgium in 1958. Had a great time before the show went bankrupted. pineridge36

Will be fun to see if Casey Tibbs story makes it into Ian's autobiography this week. To know what Ian is up to join his Ian Tyson Music facebook page.

Casey Tibbs was always a hero to this once a kid now an old timer. The big, tough athletic Grey Badgers X Joe Hancocks in my string today, keep me wishing I could ride like Casey Tibbs. Tommy T 2TRanch

Thanks so much for posting this its wonderful. Ian's lines in this song are awesome, and how true.... there will never be another Casey. He was the heart throb of every woman that ever witnessed a cowboy hat. Casey not only was a World Champion bronc rider he was the inspiration for some great bronc riders out of the Dakotas that wanted to follow in his boots.

Damn he was one of a kind. I especially like the part where he's looking back and waving at the crowd while probaly making a 80+ point ride.

Great stuff. I was listening to some Ian Tyson at home the other day, including "Casey Tibbs," and a little poking around led me here. I'd like to see the purple chaps and Caddy, though! Thanks again.

Great song......wish someone could post Casey on Miss Klamuth & other bronc rides. My dad rodeo'd w/him & Shoulders & some other greats back when they just won enough to keep going.
