Very nice, but tempo was off, and he missed the last verse. Never the less, a very nice voice.

It is slower than all version I know, I agree, but what a beautiful voice! Maybe a faster version would diminish this poetry, these emotions, would destroy the very essence of this music: Hvorostovsky's voice. I'm sure that Dmitri's Don Giovanni would be one of the most impressive of the last decades, equal to Mattei's or Terfel's. And I want very much to see this. It would be a historical event, I bet.

Some people are used to tradition and do not listen to the beautifull voice this baritone has. He has a great talent and for me his rendition is superb.

Don't know why, in the end, he does not sing "lasciati almen veder, mio bell'amore".

Wow, I LOVE it this slow! Yes it is very different than how it should be sung, but this is beautiful, simply beautiful. Bravo, Dmitri, excellent performance!

Some people take music waaaay too seriously. "It must be this way, and if it's not this way, it must burn!"

The role of any great artist is to add his interpretation of any great work of art to the mix. That's why Picasso's work is far different than Rembrandt's.

I wonder if anybody cares what you prefer. I sure don't.

continued- who tackles verdi roles regularly. and the tempo was merely an experiment i'd bet. trying something interesting. ive sang this aria slower before for various reasons, the violinist playing the mandolin part on his violin lost his pick and his fingers hurt. so we agreed to go slower (not the case here but still im sure there could be another valid reason). maybe it was late and he wanted to singing it slower just because of the mood of the room. it is a short aria/canzonetta afterall.
